I guess as usual we will keep our fingers crossed and hope for some new music soon. What's nice is that we are hearing about this from a reliable source. Thanksgiving is just aroung the corner, so a confirmation would obviously have to be made very soon if there is a release expected by then. Segerfile says that the book is out now, too. Btw, does anyone know if this book is available at bookstores? I usually don't order things online.

this is a tall claim - and I wonder how a CD could be prepared in about 7 weeks without any having noticed...

It would be exciting though!

If I remember Scott at Segerfile said there were going to be two items of note to report on this fall: we know one was the book, and perhaps a CD is the other one ? Food for thought I suppose. Why have we not heard anything about Bob being in the studio though ?

I went to Scott's Twitter account and he is confirming that Seger is in the studio recording new material right now. Well.......this is interesting, to say the least.

Last time he was in the studio recording it took HOW LONG?
Although, if he were to record a couple more songs to re-release Face The Peromise with the extra tracks he once mentioned, it would be do-able. OR if he took the tracks he has and recorded more for a new album, that would be even better.
Either way, if I was from Missouri I'd say, "Don't tell me, Show Me!"

Wasn't "Blue Ridge" already completed but he didn't like the way it was recorded? Maybe he's remastered that or rerecorded it? Who knows. I am just totally shocked by this info...but a good shocked. I thought FTP would be it.

Not to start (or pass on) too big of a rumor here...Note the question mark in the headline of my Segerfile post ("...By Thanksgiving?") Maybe I should have put two question marks. It's true that Seger was in the studio last week, and he has reportedly commented that he'd like this new CD released by Thanksgiving. But whether that was an offhand comment or a commitment, who knows. And as we all know, he could change his mind ten times today.

I'm just doing my part to add to the Internet rumor mill, is all...

He could actually be redoing Blue Ridge. It wasn't the songs he didn't like, it was the technology.
What does Ears I Ears II have to say about these songs?

Hello Everyone.. I am so happy to Bob is back in the studio again!!!!! From what I have heard Bob is working hard and very fast on this one, I know how bob changes his mind at the drop of a hat when he does not like how things sound when he is in the studio.. well I guess things are going great!!! and its going to be a special Cd one that we have all talked about before here at segernet.. I cant say anything more for now!!!! but there are going to be some real happy seger fans real soon... ( more than one way)....on another note I was so lucky to have spent a wonderful week this summer with Alto and his lovely girlfriend Christiana and her daughter sofia and my family on Cape Cod. We had a lot of good food and drinks , did some traveling to provence town Mathas vinyard.. Alto did have his magic sax with him and did some great moon lite playing for us, I did get to listen to his new cd from the Tail Gators ( Tonight We Ride ) let me tell you it is kick ass rock n roll Cd. the week ended at our house here in Brockton Ma. we had a private show from Alto for some very special friends pool side. One of our good friends Kevin Walch from (segerbob) and his lovely wife mal and his beautiful girls came for the party. Kevin did do some video of Alto and me doing some Seger tunes ( After a few to many cocktails) so please dont as me to post it lol I'm no Bob Seger....

I thought all signs were pointing to something happening with Live Nation. This could be it.

Well we are certainly getting lots of hints dropped. Boston Sammy says "there will be some real happy Seger fans soon (more that one way)". The hint is more than one... have to think that implies a tour as well, or maybe not, but then why Live Nation? Go to bobseger.com today and the site is down. Could it be the boxed set with new tracks and a DVD? I'm excited now but the truth is we could be on here discussing this two years from now. Here's hoping anyway. The thing I'm clinging to is Live Nation, I don't think they would sit around and wait forever for product so we might be heading towards something cool!
